Where Did the Idea for Bisquick Original Pancake and Baking Mix Originate?

Way back in in 1930, a traveling salesman was on a train. Though the dining car was closed, the chef quickly produced hot biscuits for the salesman. How did the chef do it? By blending the key ingredients ahead of time and keeping them in the ice chest so he could make biscuits to order. The salesman brought the idea of a mixed baking product to General Mills. While creating the perfect blend wasn’t easy, the original Bisquick recipe was perfected over the years.
